Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 August 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of www.iago.cymru and app.iago.cymru (the "Services") operated by iago.
By requesting access, creating an account, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
iago is currently an invite-only beta. Features may change, break, or be withdrawn without notice.
The service
iago helps users upload video or audio, generate timed subtitles using AI speech recognition and translation tools, edit those subtitles in the browser, and export files such as SRT and VTT.
Outputs are assistive drafts. You are responsible for reviewing accuracy, timing, tone, and suitability before publishing or broadcast use.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect transcription, or that exports will meet every broadcaster's delivery specification.
Accounts and beta access
Access may require approval. We may accept, refuse, suspend, or remove accounts at our discretion during the beta.
You must provide accurate information, keep login details secure, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and, if using the Services for an organisation, have authority to bind that organisation.
Your content and rights
You retain ownership of content you upload and subtitles you create, subject to the rights of any third parties in that material.
You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, and display that content solely to provide and improve the Services (including sending it to subprocessors named in our Privacy Policy).
You must only upload material you have the rights to use. Do not upload unlawful content, or content that infringes privacy, confidentiality, IP, or other rights.
You are responsible for obtaining any consents needed for people appearing in or speaking on your media.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Services. That includes attempting to break security, overload infrastructure, reverse engineer except where allowed by law, scrape the Services abusively, or use outputs to harm others.
Do not use the Services for unlawful surveillance, harassment, or to process special-category personal data unless you have a lawful basis and any required safeguards.
AI and third-party processing
Parts of the Services rely on third-party AI and cloud providers. By uploading content you instruct us to process it through those systems as described in the Privacy Policy.
Do not upload content you are not allowed to share with those processors.
Disclaimer and liability
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" during beta, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for losses arising from inaccurate captions, downtime, or third-party provider failures.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, if required for security or legal reasons, or when the beta ends or changes.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country say otherwise.
